Atmosphere

We’ve posted other clips of amazing atmosphere in a club , but we think that this from Quadrant Park in Liverpool in Oct 1991 takes some beating.

The energy is obvious, you can feel it. And it’s not just at the drop, it’s contsant. Pure abandonment. The fact the clips in black and white makes it more exciting somehow.  Looks like a sweatbox, we love it.

Of course you all should now that it’s the mighty K-Klass playing in this clip, which fits the mood entirely perfectly.  Still being played out today, and it eventually became a pretty big commercial hit, this is K-Klass in their natural environment, causing the air horns to be let off.  Wonder where the people in this clip are now, this is life changing stuff.  Quadrant Park was massive, but we’ve heard plenty of people saying that this was the real atmosphere in the North and not the Hacienda, but The Quad is much more overlooked.  Maybe because there wasn’t the indie dance crossover that Manchester had that kept the music press away, but the Quad developed pretty much out of the media glare, unlike the Hacienda. Every video we have ever seen from it is impressive due to the noise, the cheers and horns and whistles.  Outside of a Boca Juniors home game they don’t make them like this any more
