Football club Unión Deportiva Ibiza may only have been founded in 2015 (out of the ashes of former club UD Ibiza-Eivissa), but it already has achieved some notable headlines – in the 2019–20 Copa Del Rey, it led Barcelona with just 20 minutes left on the clock, and notched a memorable win against Celta Vigo the following year.
The Primera Federación side have now got something else to shout about, with Ibizan DJ and producer Anna Tur unveiling a new anthem for the club, Força Eivissa, which features vocals from rock group Joven Dolores.
“A little over a year ago I was asked by UD Ibiza to produce their anthem,” Tur explained. “[Club president] Amadeo Salvo and all his management team trusted me for this job, which entails a maximum responsibility towards the team and its fans.”
The new track isn’t the first time that Tur’s path has crossed with that of UD Ibiza – the DJ and producer previously participated in the documentary Club Ibiza on DAZN, providing the soundtrack to several editions and performing a remix of Carl Cox’s Sand, Moon & Stars.
“This very special collaboration with Joven Dolores has been something very exciting and special for me from the very first moment,” she added. “[It is] a hymn made with love and enthusiasm, giving space to representative sounds of the island such as electronic music and rock. I am very grateful and happy to have made it a reality.”
The track was played for the first time at UD Ibiza at its home match against Recreativo de Huelva, at the Palladium Can Misses on 15 October. You can download/stream it here. Check out our 2021 interview with Anna Tur here.
